Casey & Kingston is committed to ensuring your Personal Data and Privacy is Protected. The purpose of this document is to inform you of the personal date that we might collect and use during our relationship with you and the use we may make of this data.

Under current GDPR legislation you have the right to:

  • obtain a copy of personal data we hold on file
  • correct any information relating to you which is incorrect;
  • delete such Information;
  • restrict our use of that information;
  • object to our use of information relating to you;
  • request that information relating to you is transferred to another data controller.

Sources of Data

We only collect information from you in the course of providing property services to you, for example if you contact us by phone, email, letter or if you call to the office or met us at a viewing. We may also collect information from Web based property websites i.e. www.caseyandkingston.ie, www.Daft.ie , www.My.home.ie, and their related sites and other social media sites. In the case of new homes, we may also obtain information relating to you from New Homes Development Websites.

Retention of Data

We will not hold your data for longer than is necessary. Where you invite us to value your property or if you view, offer or purchase through us we are legally obliged to retain a record of this for a minimum period of 6 years after the property transaction is completed.

Personal Data we hold on file

In order to provide you with a property service you may need to provide us with the following information:

  • your name and contact details, including your email address, address and telephone number;
  • information relating to your financial means (proof of funds and/or proof of mortgage approval)
  • Proof of ID and proof of address in order to comply with our obligations under current money laundering legislation
  • Any other personal data which you provide to us directly

How we may use your personal data

Your personal data may be used by us for the purposes of:

  • Contacting you in relation to the provision of Property related services e.g. selling your property, letting your property or acquiring a property on your behalf, customer/client relationship management or administration
  • Responding to any queries you may have relating to properties we have for sale or let
  • Forwarding you details of properties in which you have expressed an interest
  • Carrying out customer satisfaction surveys
  • Complying with our legal and regulatory obligations (e.g. to undertake Anti Money Laundering checks and our obligation to keep records of bids and bidders on property transactions as required by the Property Services (Regulation) Act, 2011);
  • Sending you property industry related newsletters and information
  • Helping to prevent and detect fraud or loss

After providing any Personal Data during your initial point of contact, should you choose to correspond with us further via email, mobile or phone, we may retain the contents of these communications and our responses together with your name, number and email address, as is required by the Property Services (Regulation) Act 2011. 

Sharing of Personal Data

We do not share your personal data with 3rd parties except where it is necessary to do so to carry out your instructions under the terms of your contract with us. We may also share your personal data with competent regulatory or other authorities and bodies as requested or required by law e.g. Property Regulator or RICS auditing teams

We will share details of purchasers of New Homes with Developers and their solicitors.

How do we safeguard your personal data?

We are committed to taking all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss or unauthorised access.

Exercising your Rights

If you wish to exercise your right to obtain a copy of personal data which we have on file, please contact us by email/letter and will endeavour to respond to your request within 30 days. If this is not possible we will inform you of same within the required time limit.
